The buffet is amazing ($10)! All you can eat and they cook it right in front of you. They have chicken, shrimp, white fish, tofu, salmon ($2 up charge), and more! Very happy and full ^_^

We stopped here on a whim while visiting from out of town. I was just in the mood for sushi. They had a nice menu and service was quick. Price was okay and, most importantly, the fish was very fresh.

I love this restaurant so much. The owner is very sweet and is always working his ass if when we go in. The rushes are always different, so it's a good idea to call ahead if you have more than two in your party. This is our favorite place to go for date night/celebrations. Order sushi while you wait, though. Sometimes it can be a bit of a wait seeing as though there are only a couple chefs working. Delicious food, friendly staff.

Fun restaurant. Had a great time. The food was very good. These guys cooking/show skills aren't as good as the higher end Japanese restaurants but still put on an entertaining show.

I just had a great time taking my daughter (10) to this place. She loved the food and the Chef is nice and awesome to watch. Their peppercorn sauce is to die for. Evenings are expensive but the lunch cannot be beat here (all you can eat dinner) . It does take a while to get your food but the miso soup is good and its really worth the wait. She loved it, wants to go back for her birthday. The evening prices are a bit pricey but I hope this place sticks around.

Eh, not the best. The all you can eat lunch buffet of teppanyaki is okay. The sauces aren't the best. The green tea is from powder - gross.

This. Is a great place to eat and the grill work is outstanding. Eat at the grill; it's a great show while your meal is prepared.

Took over 2 hours to get our sushi order (2 rolls) even though we placed it 10 minutes after we had arrived (we were the 2nd group in the door when they opened). Oh and other groups that came in after us were getting sushi well before we got ours. Food from the grill was cold and didn't arrive until about an hour and a half after it was placed, totally not worth the $19 it cost. Waitress was unapologetic and pretty much avoided us the whole time. Management was aware but didn't come out to say anything. Highly disappointed because the sushi is really good but I will never go back thanks to the way we were treated. We are super low maintenance group too, just wish we had at least one update about the status as we had to ask to even be told anything.

We like the ability to select your vegetable items, includes lo mein style noodles, from the vegetable bar for your meal. If you love onions, green beans, carrots, boc choy, or lots of noodles, the choices are all yours, the quantity of each choice also. You select the meat and the sauce and bingo your meal is cooked before your own eyes. The Mongolian Beef was suberb. You can order items off the menu as well, if you do not want to make your own selections.

Had the filet and shrimp which was to die for. The filet was tender & cooked to perfection. The service was great.

Nice place. Small and intimate for sure. Service and show was above average for Teppanyaki. Well priced. The food is somewhat below par. Although tasty and fresh, the chef overcooked the steak and chicken. Sushi was above average for the "desert". Fresh and nice presentation. I will likely give them another chance.

The food at this teppanyaki grill is very good; steak, shrimp, chicken, fish or tofu are available and they are nicely sauced. The food show is entertaining. The only problems are: 1. You can wait a really long time, as there are not enough chefs to accommodate the number of patrons. We waited 45 minutes from the moment we were seated for the chef even to begin to cook. There was neither an apology nor an explanation. 2. The airconditioning in the restaurant can't keep up with the heat in the summer. It can get pretty stuffy when the temperature outside is 108F and there's nk circulating air.

Love, love, love! Chefs cook in front of you while they put on a show. Service is wonderful! Sushi is fresh!!! Tempura style calamari is delicious. Steak are great! Monday night special: app, two dinners, and dessert.. Twenty dollars only! We go as often as we can.

Katana's have some awesome folks working for them. Very friendly and awesome food and the chief show is a bonus.

Katana is a nice little restaurant. Although a little tight as far as dining room they try and use their space to their advantage. We've been twice and had the same cook both times. I can't remember his name but he's very good at entertaining and judging who is there for a good time. It seems that he really enjoys the job and he suggested different ways to make our meal unique. The teriyaki chicken was very good as was the tuna. We were very impressed by the sushi rolls for being as large and fresh as they were (you know, this being the desert and so far away from anywhere with a good choice of fresh fish). It is a little pricey but definitely worth it to have some entertainment and actually interact with the person cooking your food.

Hubby & I ate dinner at this grill on a Tuesday night, got there at 5:45, not too busy so seated right away. Service very good, staff very helpful & eager to please. Split an order of tempura shrimp, a generous appetizer and not too heavy, but they use tiny salad shrimp. He ordered the shrimp & chix combo ($18), I got filet mignon ($20). Meal came with soup which I didn't care for, but he liked it. A small salad w/a ginger-y dressing was good. But you're paying for the entree and the show and they were both very good. I was surprised at just how good (and tender!) my filet was; hubby's meal was also very good. We both brought home leftovers.

I was already loving this place but love it even MORE since discovering the 8.99 Mongolian BBQ lunch. Katana continues to impress and I'm still a bit surprised that a place like this exists in the otherwise Mexican restaurant saturated town of Las Cruces.

They have good service, and I'm sure the staff are nice people from my experience, but the food is nowhere up to par with any decent Japanese food I have had. The Katana benyo was one of the worst bentos I have ever had for $10. I may be spoiled from living in LA, but food is food and this was unacceptable. The California roll looked and tasted worse than buying a roll at the local grocery store, the chicken looked like it was from the frozen section of a grocery store (which by the way is $10 for a whole bag), and the tempuras were just horrendous - you can't just fry anything in tempura breading such as a brocolli, mushroom, and green pepper! Please go learn how to make authentic Japanese foods and try again.
